DU RIRE AUX LARMES… FROM LAUGHTER TO TEARS
The trigger was a trip to Las Vegas, in 2006. It’s a story of chance in a city where illusion is king. Philippe Saire plunges into the world of fake - shows that shimmer and dazzle and lights reflected to infinity in the eyes of the audience - of disappearing and illusion.

The choreographer is titillated by this universe. Talking about the desire that we have all known at one time or another to vanish, to withdraw from life, from the daily routine, to be elsewhere. To become invisible.

Philippe Saire decided to dissect the world of entertainment in a trilogy of works. In 2006, he offered us his « cabaret » piece with Could I just fraw your attention to the brevity of life?, a humorous vision that already flirts with this fear of disappearing. In 2008, the second chapter, Il faut que je m’absente, was also about disappearances. Real ones created by a magician, fake ones created through humour; dance that introduces a few moments of anxiety, lights that trouble our senses, a rabbit, two rabbits, a bunny girl and the grim reaper…

The third piece, and the conclusion of this trilogy, doesn’t yet have a title. It is an end that opens on to another elsewhere, a last point of view on entertainment. But what sort of entertainment ? … perhaps the kind described by Blaise Pascal where entertaining oneself is a way of fleeing from the tragedy of existence.

This creation is the last chapter of the trilogy on the subject of entertainment, which started in 2006.
This show will be created at Théâtre Sévelin 36, from 23rd November to 19th December 2010 for a total of 14 performances.
